On Thursday, March 27, nearly 100 local residents jammed the Senior Center to hear author and photographer Tim Palmer describe his life on our nation's rivers and see his exceptionally beautiful slides. Palmer has traveled on and photographed more than 300 rivers in North America, including our own Mokelumne. The event was a spring boost to our effort to secure National Wild and Scenic River designation for the Mokelumne River. Palmer urged event attendees to join our organization and support that effort -- noting that all rivers need organizations to protect them from ill-considered, unnecessary dams. We'd like to thank everyone who attended the event as well as those who helped put it together. And we'd especially like to thank Tim for sharing his wonderful work with us.
