At its August 2019 meeting, Amador County Planning Commission denied a developer's request for a two-year extension of the vesting tentative subdivision map for the Pine Acres North project. The Amador County Board of Supervisors originally approved the subdivision in 2010 over the vocal objections of many concerned local residents. The project proposed dividing 44 acres to accommodate up to 90 residential units at the corner of Tabeaud Road and Highway 88 east of Pine Grove. No work has been done on the property since the initial approval.
The developer neither attended the commission meeting nor appealed the decision, although he earlier indicated in a letter that he intended to considerably scale down the project. Now that the project's map has expired, the developer must submit any new plans to the county, which would trigger new environmental review.
