More Bluegrass for the Wild and Scenic Moke! Laurie Lewis and the Right Hands return to Mokelumne Hill on Friday, November 16
On Friday, November 16, at 7 p.m., the Foothill Conservancy is bringing Laurie Lewis and the Right Hands back to the historic Mokelumne Hill Town Hall for a sure-to-be-wonderful performance.
Many of you are familiar with Laurie. But if you’re not, here’s the scoop: Grammy Award-winning musician Laurie Lewis is internationally renowned as a singer, songwriter, fiddler, bandleader, producer, and educator. She was a founding member of the Good Ol’ Persons and the Grant Street String Band and has performed and recorded since 1986 with her musical partner, mandolinist Tom Rozum. Laurie has twice been voted “Female Vocalist of the Year” by the International Bluegrass Music Association and has won the respect and admiration of her peers.
Laurie is also an active river advocate with a true love of our central Sierra rivers, including the Mokelumne. For the last two years, she and friend Suzy Thompson have produced the “River of Song” benefit concert for us and Friends of the River in Berkeley.
Laurie and her band have played for us in the past to sellout crowds. Please check the Foothill Conservancy website in October for ticket information, or contact our office at 209-223-3508 and we will put you on the notification list.
