Mokelumne Wild and Scenic study draft due soon
Katherine Evatt
Mokelumne River Electra Run, Fall 2017
As detailed in our last e-Focus, the Mokelumne River Wild and Scenic suitability study required by Assembly Bill 142 has been in progress for the past few months. GEI Consultants of Rancho Cordova is carrying out the study for the California Natural Resources Agency. We expect a draft to be released for public comment by the end of the year.

The study contract calls for GEI to hold at least one, related public workshop. We expect that to occur in the first quarter of 2018 – and we need you to weigh in. We’re sure that if the study recommends permanent protection for the river, Wild and Scenic opponents will be turning out in force. We will need those of you who love the Mokelumne River to speak up, too.

If you’re not on our various e-mail lists, please contact our office to sign up, or check our Facebook page and website for meeting announcements early next year.
