Along with 23 other local charities, the Foothill Conservancy is raising funds through #GivingTuesday on November 28, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving.
GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and the associated shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It’s intended to kick off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and supporting local charities and causes.
Amador County’s local event is sponsored by the Amador Community Foundation. Thanks to a $10,000 gift from the ACF’s Helen Fallis Founders Fund, $5,000 donations from Stan Lukowicz and American Legion Post 108, and $15,000 from the Jackson Rancheria, the Foundation will provide up to $35,000 in proportional matching funds to participating organizations. We’ll receive a portion of those funds based on the donations we receive that day.
To donate on #GivingTuesday, you can bring a check to our office at 35 Court St, Suite 1 on Tuesday, November 28 before 4 p.m.; to the Foundation office on Highway 49 in Jackson (Mother Lode Plaza); donate online at the Give Amador website, or bring a check to the local Giving Tuesday Meet and Greet at The Highway House banquet room on Highway 49 in Jackson (formerly Thomi’s, also in Mother Lode Plaza). We’ll be there with other organizations tabling from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Hors d’ouevres will be served and a cash bar will be open.
Last year, area nonprofit raised $109,322 on #GivingTuesday. Participating groups hope to top that number this year.
With your help, we can do it!
