In late 2016, Gov. Jerry Brown appointed Danny Wan of Oakland, a longtime friend of the Mokelumne River, to the board of the Sierra Nevada Conservancy. Wan is the chief counsel for the Port of Oakland, a former member of the Oakland City Council, a former East Bay Municipal Utility District director, and a trained whitewater rafting guide. He has a home in Calaveras County and has been a staunch supporter of our Mokelumne River conservation efforts for many years.
We are excited to have Wan join the SNC board and we look forward to working with him on issues affecting our communities and the Sierra.
