After securing the Mokelumne’s state Wild and Scenic River designation
last summer, we embarked on an ambitious campaign to raise $1,000 for each wild and scenic river mile, or $37,000, to support the Foothill Conservancy’s ongoing work. Thanks to generous contributions from you and others, we’re getting closer to our goal: As of December 12, we’ve raised nearly $26,000 from events, fundraising appeals, Facebook, Giving Tuesday and Conservancy President Katherine Evatt’s special birthday fundraiser on Facebook. That alone brought in more than $2,300. If you’re a Facebook user, this is a great, easy way to help us out on your special day.
If you haven’t yet contributed to this campaign or would like to help put us over the top, please consider making a contribution before the end of the calendar year. If you’re at least age 70 ½, you may be able donate as much as $100,000 from your IRA or other qualified retirement plan to charitable nonprofits like us. You can’t deduct that from your taxes, but you won’t have to pay income tax on the amount you donate.
Or you can donate online on our website, donate appreciated stock (call us at 209-223-3508) for details), set up a recurring monthly donation, or simply donate the old-fashioned way by mailing a check to Foothill Conservancy, 35 Court St Ste 1, Jackson, CA 95642.
Thanks again for your generous support!
