To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers Act, the Foothill Conservancy will host critically acclaimed, award-winning photographer and author, Tim Palmer in Jackson. Palmer will present a slide show of his new book, Wild and Scenic Rivers: An American Legacy
The event is open to the public. Suggested donation at the door, $10. We'll have wine and beer available for purchase. Tim Palmer’s books and Foothill Conservancy river merchandise will be available for purchase.
Wild and Scenic Rivers: An American Legacy, published by Oregon State University Press, presents an illuminating portrait of the world’s premiere system for the protection of natural rivers. In the book and presentation, Palmer reveals the history and essential policies of the wild and scenic program and showcases spectacular color photos of designated rivers from around the nation.
Palmer is the author and photographer of 25 books about rivers, the environment and adventure travel. As a writer, citizen conservationist and former environmental planner, he has been involved in the National Wild and Scenic River System almost since its founding.
